Storywise, I think it actually succeeds in combining the scary stuff along with the more serious things and the comedic side. I feel like Don introduces new characters each time to the Charles Lee Ray storyline, but you don’t necessarily have to know the entire history in order to follow the story. I think they’re almost all successful as standalone films. I think all of the films are different in their own way.
